hi I’m Abbie, a Manchester-based illustrator of people, pets, buildings + more. I love art, elephants and the colour orange, so thought there was no better name for my little art shop. I’m (nearly) 27, and my day job is an assessment practitioner at a mental health team. And by night, I paint! At the moment I have been painting local businesses and some colourful animal prints, but I’m always getting inspired by the world around me, so its difficult for me to stick with just one thing! I did a lot of art as a kid with my sister and my grandmother, who are both very talented artists, but I only truly discovered my passion for it aged 18, when I took on a 30 day drawing challenge. I only ever used graphite pencil, until 2020 when I started experimenting with oil paints during lockdown. Since then I’ve tried out loads of different mediums and really enjoy having the flexibility to use them all!
